About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Hello!

I will be visiting china in july - i am going to apply soon for a double entry visa so that by the time I get to china my visa will still be valid (double entry will give me 6 months validity).

I would like to do a tour that goes thru Shanghai and Hong Kong. Do I need visas to enter? I believe I will be entering overland (not flying) and I am Canadian.

Thank-you.

The validity of a double-entry visa is 3 months not 6 months. You'd better apply foe the visa one month ahead of your departure date.

You need visa to Shanghai, but you are free of visa to HK for less than 90 days.
