Hi, Ms Cynthia. Do not worry. If you have to communicate with business partner or for the job, you can get a interpreter. If you just live in the city, you can get use to it gradually. Jida near the sea coast and Gongbei has the most expats of other countries. You can learn some basic language and knowledge about the city before going.

Hey Cynthia i am an expat living in Zhuhai for almost one year now. You wont have much of an issue with comunication as you will soon learn how to communicate with body language and simple chinese and english words:). Most of us carry some cards with us where some key words are written in chinese that you can show in taxi or in a shop etc. But you will find a good bunch of expats and their families here if you take up house in places like huafa new town. Cheers and all the best.
