About:Chinese Embasy in Ireland

I live in Irland since 2 years now but i have a german passport. I want to visit my uncle in China. Do i need an invitation from him? Furthermore i know that i need a birth certificate. Unfortunately i cannot find the original anymore and i'd like to know if it's enough to have a copy of it when i come to the embassy?

To apply for an L visa for visting family members, an invitation letter is required. The copy of the birth certificate is also okay for your application.
