About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Indonesian going to study in China next August. I am going to Changsha, and will probably enter China via Hong Kong. Do I need to apply for a visa for Hong Kong too? And what kind of visa should I apply, I am quite confused with single, double, and multiple entry visa. Do I need to have my flight tickets first before I apply for visa?

Passport holders from Indonesia are exempt from visa for Hong Kong provided that their stay is not exceeding 30 days.
