Question

Will be in Shanghai on Dec. , end of the year. Have not figure out how many days to stay, not sure if I should book a tour ahead of time or may when arrive, the hotel may have local tour. Want to see the dune and the pongtoong, how to travel back and fore. How far they are apart. Do not want to join traditional tour. Just want may be a day with night curise to see night shanghai. How to get these tickets. How much taxi going to the dune area. Or is there any taxi at all.  Can some body local help to answer these questiions.

Hello, I think you could ask a reliable travel agency to make a private travel plan for you in terms of your requirements. What do you mean by dune? Is it Bund? Well, the Bund and Pudong is divided by the narrow Huangpu River on which there are very frequently ferries operating. The ticke of night cruise along the Huangpu River could be bought just at the 1F of the Bund. In fact, there are lots of ferry companies there. But, don't buy ticket from those small booths although it may be a little cheaper. All of the taxi could take you there!

1. usually 2-3 days in quite enough for Shanghai tour, but if you want to pay some one day trip to around cities like Suzhou / Hangzhou / water town, the days will be added more.2. taxi / metro will be very convenient for you. if you go from the bund to PUdong side, the best way is to take sightseeing tunnel.3. just go to the bund, you will see plenty of river cruise ticket booking office, buy the tickets you need there.

btw, night river cruise usually is 80-100RMB/person, one exception is dragon boat ( the biggest one) 200RMB/person with buffet dinner on it, leave at port at 7pm.
