The modern industry produced many modern industry products, which were more welcomed than the traditional Chinese products. For example, the tin-coated mirror is better than the traditional Chinese bronze mirror. Little by little, the need of Chinese products transported from the silk road became less, and generally, the silk road became declined.

The demand of Asian goods in Euope, a demand that eventually inspired a search for a Sea route to Asia. The sea route was less coss, harassment, and danger. Many goods could not be traveled on the silk route. So they were conveyed on the sea route.
