About:Hangzhou Travel

I just came back from my trip to Hangzhou, Suzhou & Shanghai. For those who intent to visit these places on a budget - minus the expensive hotel charges - I would recommend staying at the international youth hostel. The West Lake Int. Youth Hostel is just opposite the West Lake in Hangzhou. Check out internationalhostelchina.com or hostelworldchina.com.

There are many local one day tours which we joined with the local tourists and it is worth it.

Dear Mr. Kenny Khaw,

Thank you for your information on the hostel in West Lake.

By the way, just to check with you. Is it recomended to travel DIY in these places? What is the hotels rate ranges? Possible to walk-in or online booking before arrive?

Yes you can DIY. It helps if you can speak mandarin (chinese). The people at the youth hostel speaks english and are very helpful.

It is preferable to book online as the youth hostels are often full.
