About:China Museum of Huaiyang Cuisine

Hi,
I am going to China to start a band and play at the bars/clubs/venues in China. I currently live in the US and how should I obtain a visa? I would like to live in China for a year. I would like to start out playing for free and then soon get paid gigs in which I would be paid by each bar/club for each time I play, but I would probably be playing at multiple bars and wouldn't be hired by any of them because I would like to play all over. Would I try for a business F visa at the Chinese consulate near me in NYC? I don't have any invitation letters and I'm also not a business myself. Should I just say that I am a business and use my band's name as the business name? Can I also make money in China on a F visa? Or should I get a tourist visa and work on purchasing a year visa in China? Would I purchase a business visa or a work visa in China if I went that route? Can I purchase a work visa if I don't have an official employer? and still get paid by bars when I play for them? I plan on living in Beijing. Any help would be great because I've been trying to figure out this visa situation for weeks now and can't figure out what to do. I just want to start a band in China and play at different venues and also be able to get paid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad

For commercial performance, you are required of work visa, but you don't have a visa notification form. I think you should apply for a tourist visa and then find a sponsor or business partner in China. After that you can convert your visa into work visa. It is a complicated matter.
