I'm a Canadian living in Quebec and planning a trip from China to Russia via Mongolia in August 2009. I'll leave Montreal on August 1st, arrive to Beijing the next day to join an Intrepid Travel group tour. We'll stay in Beijing for 3 days then leave for Mongolia. I've read your answers on your website about the visa request procedure. Please confirm if my understanding is correct:
-for the visa, I'll have to join a proof of my inscription to Intrepid group with the name of the hotel in Beijing;
-I can not send the documents to the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa by myself but to Goldenmile2000 Agency; do I have to pay their service beside the 50$ visa fee?;
-can I send my visa request earlier than 1 month before the departure on August 1st? I'm only afraid that some delay happens at the last minute and I can't obtain the visa on time! Please tell me which day at the soonest I can ask for the visa;
-you'd be very kind to send me any document which could help me prepare a interesting trip to Beijing.
