It is difficult to say which hotel is near the the shopping areas because Macau has so many places for good shopping. Usually, if you come to Macau for the first time, it is suggested that looking for a hotel in the Macau Peninsula where the most scenic spots, shopping malls and entertainment places assemble. However, the main center for traveling shopping is located around the Ruins of St. Paul. Anyway, all depend on you!
