About:Imperial Garden

My husband and I will be in Hangzhou in September for an airline road race event. The hotel we are referred to is the Grand Hotel which I understand is not near Westlake. How much is public transportation between these two areas? Also, after leaving Hangzhou we would like to go to Xian for the terrawarriors. What do you recommend for flights/tours? We leave the USA on 9/7/09 and would like to spend two weeks in China, one week will be in Hangzhou. Thank you for your recommendations.

Which detail name of the Grand Hotel? Zhejiang Grand Hotal? Anyway, according to our experience, your hotel will be in the downtown. The West Lake is one part of the downtowm. Common From your hotel to the West Lake side will be took in 15 minutes by walk. Not too far.
As for to Xi An, I suggest you by plane from Hangzhou Airport. In the downtown, there is bus station (RMB20.00/person)to the Xiaoshan Intl Airport, you could by taix from your hotel to the station (only RMB 10.00), if by taxi will be about RMB 170.00.

If it is the Zhejiang Grand then it is in an easy walk to the lake..the taxi flag fall is ten rmb..about <$1.50 USD so getting aroung the city is very cheap. From the airport expect to pay 100 RmB.. about $15. Your hotel will give you tourist pamphlets and be able to help direct you to places. The people in China are lovely!! Have a great trip!
