About:History of Silk Road

is the silk road still used today in 2009? ....& if not how come? & if it is is it still important as it was before?

The new Silk Road we use today refers to the modern road network connecting the China's inland with other countries in Central Asia, Western Asia, Southern Asia, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and Western Europe, to promote the trade cooperation and economy contact.
