About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hours free visa transit

from indonesian, so my route is as follows:
Tokyo (HND) – Beijing (PEK) – Chengdu (CTU/TFU) – Jakarta (CGK), under one booking. do this itinerary requires me to obtain a China visa, considering that I will be transiting from an international flight to a domestic flight within China before continuing to Jakarta?

You do not need any kind of visa because you have right to have a transit of this kind. This is perfectly normal and acceptable. If your total transit time in China is shorter than 24 hours, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit scheme and in case if your total transit time is longer than 24 hours, you will be covered by 240 hour visa free transit because Indonesian citizens are qualified for this longer option. In any case, all you need are your flight tickets and your valid Indonesian passport. It is true that you will formally enter China in Beijing because your next flight to Chengdu is a domestic one, but this is not a problem at all. You will just approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter in Beijing upon your landing where you will be given a temporary entry permit that will allow you to cross the immigration, to formally enter China and to catch your domestic flight to Chengdu. You do not need a visa, definitely. You can proceed with your travel plans with absolute peace of mind and absolutely visa free. Have a wonderful journey.
