About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TWOV for uk citizen- do i quality ?

Hi
i have a round trip to hong kong from london booked in march. Is it possible for me to travel without a visa if my itinerary is hong kong- mainland - macao - back to hong kong via ferry?
there seems to be confusion around whether macao and hong kong count as a third destination. since i am not re-entering the mainland after exiting to macao does this mean i qualify?

Your itinerary definitely qualify for 240 hour visa free transit. Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau are treated as eligible territories, there is no doubt about it. You can exit Hong Kong toward mainland China by train from Hong Kong West Kowloon station. After your stay in mainland China you will take a ferry from Shekou (in Shenzhen) to Macau. Please, have in mind that you will have to buy your ferry ticket from Shekou to Macau even before you depart from Hong Kong because you will be asked to present that exit ticket by both Hong Kong and mainland China immigration authorities. After you have arrived in Macau you can go wherever you want. Have a nice visit to China.
