About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Doha>Guangzhou>Hong Kong

Currently reside in Qatar as a US Citizen. Would I be eligible for the the 240 hour visa free transit with the flight above? Also, would it be possible for this route:
Option A: Doha>Guangzhou>Hong Kong
Option B: Doha>Guangzhou>Viet Nam or Bangkok

Both of your options are eligible for 240 hour visa free transit, there is no doubt about it. As far as your A option is concerned, you can use plane, train or ferry to travel from mainland China to Hong Kong, but you need to buy your plane or train or ferry ticket in advance, even before you depart from Doha because you will be asked to present a ticket that you will use to exit mainland China in direction to Hong Kong. This is valid for your B option, but I mention A option with purpose because the exit options are multiple. Have a nice visit to China.
