About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Hong Kong <=> Shenzhen <=> Hainan

I booked a 9-day trip to Hainan. The trip will start from Shenzhen and end in Shenzhen. I will fly from the US to Hong Kong first, then take a train from HK to Shenzhen a few days later. I plan to stay a few days in Shenzhen, either before or after the Hainan trip. And then take a train back to Hong Kong before flying back to the US. Do I need to get a China visa for this trip? If so, should I get a visitor’s visa or a regular 10-year visa? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes, Steve, you are required a Chinese visa for this long trip, and a Tourist Visa will be OK.
