Visiting a Friend in Beijing, China

Hi,
I will be travelling the following route with a USA passport valid until Jan 2032:
Feb 26 from LAX-USA to SGN-VIETNAM
Mar 19 from SGN-VIETNAM to BEIJING CHINA
Dec 31 from BEIJING CHINA to LAX USA.

If I understand correctly, I will not need a visa to enter/stay in China as I'll be entered from Vietnam?

From Mar. 19 to Dec. you will stay in China for these months? You need a S visa for this. The longest duration of stay without a visa is 10 days.
