Food to eat in transit area

I have some dietary and religious concern hence thinking of carrying some chicken to consume during our transit. Is it allowed? Not going outside airport

Luckily enough for me they allowed me in. I went to declaration booth and mentioned I have some Cooked Chicken with me, can I carry them into Transit & the transit accommodation we booked. To my surprise they let me into China without even checking. Fortunate enough my kids could eat what they loved.
