About:Do I Need A Visa for Guangzhou If Traveling from Hong Kong?

144 hour transit entry HK>GZ>Macau

I travel from Australia to HK on Japanese passport, and would like to visit the GuangDong region, traveling to GZ from Kowloon via train. If I then depart GuangZhou via Ferry to Macau, would I be eligible for the 144 hour visa free transit?

You can't take a train to GZ to take advantage of the 144. You can take a ferry or flight to GZ and then leave via ferry or train to Macau.
