Staying in Tianhe District(Litu International Hotel)

I’m currently here for canton fair and i will be staying in Tianhe district next week. We are a group of 5 and initially stayed in Baiyun District didn’t really like the area as the particular area didn’t had much to do. I’m looking to make the most out of my time next week while I’m close to the city center. My main interests are nightlife, attractions, food(preferably halal) and other fun stuff. Please feel free to leave any and all recommendation(especially halal restaurants). In the meantime I’m reading blogs and forums this site to see if i can things that interest me.

Also for those of you familiar with the area of the hotel is it a good area to stay at? If not, do you have any other recommendations?
