About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

I am traveling from the US to Beijing for 5 nights, Xian 3nights,HongKong 2nights before a cruise

I am traveling from the US to Beijing for 5 nights then to Xian for three nights then to Hong Kong for two nights before boarding an Oceania cruise to Tokyo with a stop in Shanghai. We are US citizens. Do I need to get a Visa?

Yes, you need a travel L visa for the route. A single-entry is enough. The second entry in Shanghai will be covered by 144-hour visa-free transit.
