Dragon female and rooster male

We recently broke up after 4-4.5yrs. Some continued miscommunication and resulting conflicts but I feel like we're a really perfect match but he is disillusioned and says he can't do it anymore even though he does love me and thinks we are soul mates too. We had some minor splits before but always fixed it. Is there any chance we can get back together after some space? He says he needs to focus on fixing his career and I'm respecting no contact at the moment to work on myself too. We parted on good terms in the end.
