About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24-TWOV

Hello, is it possible to do a sight seeing tour only in Beijing for example for less than 24 hours without a visa or the 24-TWOV? My plan for itinerary is Bangkok-Beijing-Bangkok. Thank you for the response. I am a Filipino passport holder and works in thailand.

No, unfortunately, this is not possible because

Bangkok - Beijing - Bangkok

Is not a transit, but just a simple round trip. In order to be allowed to enjoy visa free transit scheme, you need to insert a third country or eligible territory. So, it has to be:

A country - B country (China) - C country (different than A and B countries)

So, you will need to adapt/alter your original itinerary or obtain a Chinese visa if you want to retain your original flight itinerary.

In my opinion probably the easiest solution would be to travel on the itinerary of this kind, for example:

Bangkok - Beijing - Hong Kong - Bangkok

Having in mind to make the longest possible layover in Beijing by smarty combining your flights in order to have the most time at disposal for the planned sightseeing.
