About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Do I have to personally deliver my visa application to the Chinese embassy?

Since I live quite a distance from the Chinese Embassy, could have a friend bring my visa application and documents to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C., and pick them and my visa up when it is ready?

You need to submit the application in person but can entrust someone else to pick it up.
