When to buy train tickets to Harbin?

How early can I buy overnight train tickets (soft sleeper) from Beijing to Harbin? And as there is only 3 of us, should we buy tickets for the 4th bunk for privacy?

China Railway releases the ticket 15 days in advance. But as I know, you can book with TravelChinaGuide anytime you want and they will grab the tickets for you once tickets are released.

For privacy, you can reserve all four bunks in a cabin, but it's not guaranteed you will definitely get all the four. It may fail when tickets are in demand, so book early.
