Change F visa to L visa while in China

Hi everyone,

I'm currently holding a single-entry F visa valid for 60 days, but my plane ticket is for a stay of a little less than 90 days. I'm looking to change my visa to a tourist (L) visa to visit family and travel after the F visa expires. Has anyone gone through a similar situation or have any success stories or advice on how to go about this? Like what documents I would need.

I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance!

Thank you in advance!

I think you don't understand the validity and duration of stay of China visa very much. Valid for 60 days means you can enter China within 60 days from the visa issue date and duration of stay means you can stay for how many days after you entering China. For example, visa valid from July 1 - September 30 and duration of stay is 60 days, then you can enter before September 30 and stay for 60 days until November.
You didn't mention your duration of stay. Actually you can apply for an extension with no more than 30 days at the exit and entry administration in China. It's hard to change an F to an L.
