About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit at Tianfu airport

Im Vietnamese and had o flight to St. Petersburg from Hanoi, throughout Chengdu Tianfu Airport. My layover is about 21 hours. I know that there are hotels inside TFU. Do I need 24h free visa permit to get a room there to rest until the next flight? What should do?

I am really not aware of the existence of an airside hotel at Tianfu airport, although I consider it possible. So, if the hotel has in-terminal location and if you do not have to cross immigration to reach it, you do not need to apply for a temporary entry permit. Quite the contrary, if the hotel is located land side or between the terminals (I know for two hotels located there), then you have to obtain a temporary entry permit because you will need to cross the immigration. Basically, you will need it or not based on the very location of the hotel itself.
