Names

Now that all tickets are e-tickets (and you don't have to collect your ticket at the counter) is it still of critical importance that the name on the ticket matches exactly your passport? Or do they verify only that the passport number on your ticket matches the passport number of the passport you have when boarding the train?

Both the name and number should match exactly your passport, that's what the real-name booking requires.

Can you help with this then.... My wife's passport on the line that shows her first name, it also has her title. So it reads MRS.FIRSTNAME. But the bottom part of her passport that I believe is used by the scanning devices does not have her title (That is no MRS). So what should be on a China Railways ticket? Is it SURNAME FIRSTNAME or is it SURNAME MRS.FIRSTNAME
