Shanghai TWOV

Hi, Australian citizen with flight into shanghai 6am, and then flying out the following day (same airline, different destination) at 00:55hrs. (so total ~18 hrs but departure date is the date after arrival)
A few questions:
-am I eligible for the 144 hr visa?
-do I need to provide any address on arrival document/card/visa exemption form?
-if approved, can my luggage remain checked through (China Eastern both legs, single ticket).
Many thanks.

So you will fly out China Mainland for another region or country? Then you are eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit naturally, and no need for any form or card. And if you want to leave the airport for sightseeing, you need to an 24-hour entry permit at the border inspection counter and fill the entry and exit card. And you can have your luggage checked through.
