144 Hour TWOV Timing and Hotels

Hi,

Question 1: If I am leaving Japan at 11:00pm on April 10th and arriving April 11th at 1:00am in Shanghai, can I leave Shanghai to go to Korea on April 17th? Does this qualify?

Question 2: Can I stay at a friend’s place for part of the trip if I register and go through the steps as well as staying in a hotel in another city in the region (Hangzhou) for the rest of the trip?
