About:10-Year China Visa for UK Citizens

Apply for 10 year Tourist L or Private Visit S2

I am a UK citizen and have been living and working in China for 15 years. I will retire this year and so will lose my work permit and temporary residence visa. I still wish to visit China frequently and I plan to apply for a Tourist L or Private Visit S2 visa.

1. What is the difference between a Tourist and a Private Visit visa?
2. After 15 years in China can I apply immediately for a 10 year visa or do I need to start with a 1 year visa?

1. S visa generally requires an invitation letter from your family members who work or live in China. And Tourist Visa has no such requirement.

2. It is okay for you to apply for a 10-year L visa directly.
