About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is it possile 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit at Yantai Airport(YNT)?

I am planning to travel with the following itinerary and have a question regarding the 24-hour visa-free transit policy.

CNX to KMG on February 23rd
KMG to YNT on February 23rd
YNT to ICN on February 24th
My connection at Yantai Laishan International Airport (YNT) is overnight, and I would like to know if I am eligible to exit the airport to stay at a hotel during my transit under the 24-hour visa-free policy before continuing my journey to Incheon International Airport (ICN).

Could you please confirm whether this is permissible under the current regulations? Additionally, are there any specific procedures I need to follow upon arrival at YNT to avail myself of this transit option?

Lee, the main and the most important detail is if your entire transit time in mainland China, starting from your scheduled arrival into Kunming, until your scheduled departure from Yantai is shorter than 24 hours. If this is the case, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. The formalities that you have to accomplish are:

- You will print out your flight tickets and your hotel booking confirmation for an overnight in Yantai and have those documents at hand.
- During your check-in in Chiang Mai you will just declare that you are traveling to Seoul via China using 24 hour visa free transit and here you will present them your flight tickets.
- Upon arrival in Kunming the first detail you will do is to approach the transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting those printouts. This permit/application is free of charge. After a short check, you will be allowed to cross the immigration because your next flight is a domestic one.
- When you reach Yantai you will just exit the airport because you will be on a domestic flight and have an overnight in the hotel.
- In the morning you will just cross the immigration and continue with your flight to Seoul.

Just one additional detail... You have mentioned Yantai Laishan airport, but I would say that you will use Yantai Penglai that replaces Laishan years ago...
