About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24-hour free transit visa.

Hello, I have a question about 24-hour free transit visa.
I am thinking to have a flight from Tokyo to Dubai via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport;( layover in Guangzhou is less than 24 hour)
Do I need a visa?
I am Afghanistan Passport holder.

Fahimi, if you do not have other landings within mainland China, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Guangzhou and you do not need any kind of visa. If you have a long layover, you can try to obtain a temporary entry permit immediately upon your landing by approaching transit counter where you will present your flight tickets and if your stay is overnight, a hotel booking. This application is free of charge. You can expect both positive and negative outcomes, but in case of a very long layover, especially when it is overnight, the outcomes are usually positive. If your layover is up to 8 hours, you are advised just to remain airside.
