About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Apply for 72 hours transit visa free

Hello. I am an Australia citizen. I will travel Bangkok Thailand and Shanghai China soon. I will enter Shanghai Pudong airport from Bangkok airport and will stay for 3days. Then I will back to Australia via Manila, Philippine. In this case, can I get 72 transit visa free in Pudong airport? Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can. So, if your itinerary:

Bangkok - Shanghai - Manila

Does not have any additional landing between Bangkok and Shanghai and Shanghai and Manila, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in wider Shanghai area and you do not need any kind of visa. By the way 144 hours has replaced 72 hours in Shanghai years ago.

You are advised to have your flight tickets as well as your hotel accommodation (at least for the first night) in a hard copy when flying this route.
