About:China Visa Application in UK

Planning to join a group tour of China. I will be 67 but my husband will be 71

Can we both apply at the centre or has he got to apply online only as they won't require his fingerprints?
We will be entering via Beijing.

You can help to submit all the documents directly to the visa center. He doesn't need to go ni person but the application should be off line.
