About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Long transit visit

I am a NZ Resident holding a Nepalese Passport. I am planning to travel Nepal from NZ from Chine southern airlines but have a 13 hrs from and return 22 hrs transit through Guangzhou airport. For < 6hrs transit CS provides accommodation facility. Do i need to apply the 24 -hr free visa? if yes, can the visa be applied before arrival or can only be processed at the counter after landing?
Thanks!

The most important detail is that there is no 24 hour visa, but you will travel through China (Guangzhou in your case) covered by 24 hour visa free transit. So, you will not need any kind of visa.

This visa free scheme allows you to travel visa free via Guangzhou and there is no doubt about it. Both of your journeys are eligible for visa free transit scheme. Having in mind that you plan to exit the airport in order to enjoy complimentary accommodation provided by SC, you will approach 24/144 hour visa free transit counter immediately upon your landing in Guangzhou. There you will apply for a temporary entry permit that is issued to those with long layovers and with booked accommodations, but always based on discretionary decision of airport authorities on a day of travel. Since SC is offering you an accommodation, you will present that fact along with your onward ticket. Since you fulfill all the criteria, I do not doubt that your entry permit will be granted and you will be allowed to exit the airport in order to enjoy your accommodation and the city as well. This application is free of any charge.
