About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi

Hi I am visiting Hong Kong for a week. Could I go to Shanghai for 2 nights and go back to Hong Kong with the 144 hour visa? That means, BCN - Hongkong - Shanghai - Hong Kong - BCN
Italian and Spanish passport holders.

No, this is not possible. In this scheme the only important detail is that the immediate points before and after your mainland Chinese destination have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are: Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). So, your itinerary:

Hong Kong - Shanghai - Hong Kong

Has immediate points in one territory. However, you can adapt your itinerary to look like:

Hong Kong - Shanghai - Macau

If you do this, your itinerary will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area.
