About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

LHR-PVG_LHR and PVG-SGN-MXP

Hi There. I have an Italian passport. I have originally booked a return flight from London to Shanghai Pudong, but then I decided to buy another flight from Pudong to Saigon (Vietnam). So actually I don't need anymore the return leg from Pudong to LHR, as after 72 hours in Shanghai area I will now fly to Vietnam, where I will stay for about 5 days, and then back to Italy. Am I eligible for the 144 hour visa? Do I need to cancel the return leg from Shanghai to London? Or is it possible to keep the original flight as it is? Thank you.

If I understand correctly, your now itinerary is London - Shanghai - Vietnam - Italy. If so, you are completely eligible for the 144-hour visa-free transit, and you can of course cancel your return leg from Shanghai to London.

In fact, your original itinerary London - Shanghai - London is not eligible for that policy.
