L visa duration of stay maxiumum limit?

Hi, I am planning on traveling to china to visit my girlfriends family. I am going to apply for an L visa for this purpose. I am wondering what is the maximum number of days that is allowed on a tourist visa? I want to stay for at least 2 months (we have a lot of things to do and see). I also want to improve my Mandarin and will be spending the time talking with family and friends. Can I get a 60 days duration of stay or more if I request it? I also know I can extend my tourist visa when in china, so where can I extend it? How long can it be extended by? is it very likely that I can be granted 60 days if I want it? and is it likely that I can extend my visa if I don't get granted enough days at first? Look forward to an answer. I am a Norwegian citizen and have previously travelled to china once on a study visa (X2)

Hey Emil. I believe the maximum is 30 days for a tourist visa. You would have to leave and re enter to get a stamp. U can go to hong kong or macau. The two closest places. And some friendly advice. You should learn mandarin before coming to China. People will not understand English.

I just recently applied for an L visa for multiple entries. I requested for 60 days and I got it. So yes they do issue L type visas for over 30 days.
