Hi, I am a Spanish national residing in Taiwan.Can I use the 144h transit visa?My plan is to land on a Friday to Shanghai, visit Hangzhou and back from Shanghai to Taiwan on a Sunday. Thanks beforehand.

No, it's a return trip, not a transit, so a visa is needed. You can fly from Shanghai to HK, then back to Taiwan, to create a transit route of Taiwan - Shanghai+Zhejiang - HK.

When you arrive in Shanghai from Taiwan, you have to show a confirmed flight ticket to Hong Kong (or another third country/territory), and you have to take that flight. You will also have to show that confirmed flight ticket when you check-in for your flight to Shanghai.

Thanks a lot, will they ask for what happens after I land in HK? Ie: do I need a hotel booking… etc, since I will actually take a flight back from HK to TPE.
