About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Confirmed seat requirement

Hello,
I am very confused by the confirmed seat requirement. I want to travel Hong Kong -> Shanghai -> London, but for the flight out of Shanghai I will have an e-ticket, which surely will not state a seat number until I check in and get a boarding pass, and I can only check in 24 hours before the flight. How can I apply for a 144 hour visa free if I don't have a confirmed seat number until the last 24 hours?

Please, just don't worry because this is just an old and redundant requirement that Chinese authorities do not enforce literally for years. In reality with the arrival of low cost carriers as well as different types of tickets, this requirement has become impossible to fulfill. This is perfectly understood by the Chinese authorities and they will not even try to ask about this detail. Just be relaxed, you are fine without fulfilling this requirement.
