Swapping visas

I am travelling to China shortly on a tourist visa so that I can travel and explore the country. However, I have also just been offered a permanent job in China. As I am leaving my home country very soon can I apply for my working visa whilst in china? Or must I return home or go to a 3rd country to apply?

I'm afraid you have to return to your country to apply for a work visa. It is not allowed to change it in China.
