About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa

My itinerary is Dubai-Guangzhou-Manila. My layover is 20 hrs. Do I need a transit visa? Am I allowed to exit the airport and roam around within this 20 hrs layover?

You do not need any kind of visa because you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit.

Upon your arrival in Guangzhou, you will approach 24/144 hour visa free transit desk where you will apply, this is for free, for temporary entry permit. This permit allows you to exit the airport and to enjoy Guangzhou in the way you like. However, you are advised to make an accommodation booking, at least for a very simple accommodation and to present that accommodation booking at the time when you ask for a temporary entry permit. Singe the time of your layover is long, plus an accommodation, your chances to be granted a permit are really very good.
