About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 Hour Visa

Hello.
I would like to purchase an Air China one way ticket for a transfer within 24 hours from Fukuoka, Japan to Frankfurt. The flight from Fukuoka to Beijing has a layover in Dalian, although it has the same flight number. I believe that when transferring from an international flight to a domestic flight, it is necessary to go through immigration. Are Japanese nationals eligible for a 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit? Thank you in advance.

Ichiro,

Japanese citizens are definitely and without any doubt eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.

So, the most important detail in your itinerary is if the time from your first landing in China, in your case in Dalian, until you final departure from China, in your case from Beijing, is shorter than 24 hours.

If your entire transit time, as described above, based on the scheduled times of arrival and departures, is shorter than 24 hours, you will be perfectly covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa.

Also, when you arrive in Dalian, you will cross into China by doing the passport and immigration control and you will normally continue by domestic flight to Beijing. There is no a single problem in this regard.
