About:China Customs Declaration

I’m traveling to Russia via Beijing. How to declare my money when I enter and leave China?

I’m traveling from Uganda to Russia via Beijing. I have 15,000 US dollars. I’m going to stay in Beijing for several days and leave for Russia by train with the money. I’d like to know how to declare my money when I enter and leave China. Do I need any documents or something from my departure country? What should I do if I don’t have any documents? What will the customs ask about the money? What should I answer the customs? How about if my money is less than 10,000 USD?

Generally, if you take more than 5,000 US dollars, you need to declare it when you enter China. Just fill in the Declaration Form for Inbound Passengers' Luggage and Articles and write your amount truthfully. You need to prepare your passport and the customs will check if your money is consistent with what you filled.
