About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour visa free entry

I will be travelling from Zurich via Doha to Shanghai and leave less than 72 hours after to Hong Kong. Is it ok to go with 72 hour visa free entry?

Yes, it is!

You are eligible for 144 hours visa free transit (it used to be 72 hours years ago, but this was abolished in favor of 144 hours), but you should just take care that your flights:

Doha - Shanghai
Shanghai - Hong Kong

Do not have any additional landing within mainland China.

You will be allowed to travel in the wider Shanghai area including two entire provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu. Also, you can use different airports within this region for your flight to Hong Kong.
