About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 Hour Transit

Hi
Is it possible to transit without visa. My flights are:

Bangkok > Guangzhou > Xi'an > Singapore

Yes, it is possible, but you have to remain within 24 hours frame. In other words you can rely on 24 hour visa free transit if the entire time from your first scheduled landing in mainland China (in your case Guangzhou), until your final scheduled departure from mainland China (in your case Xi'an) is less or equal to 24 hours. Only the scheduled landing and departures are counted because the plane can arrive earlier or even late.

So, if you are within 24 hours, you will, upon your arrival in Guangzhou, approach 24/144 hour visa free transit desk and apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your travel itinerary. After a short check, you will be granted an entry and you will be able to leave the airport and to proceed with your planned journey.

The route is:
Bangkok > Guangzhou, hotel stay overnight and then flight from Guangzhou to Xi'an by air.
And final connecting air flight Xi'an to Singapore

The route is fine, but you have to calculate the entire time, from your scheduled landing in Guangzhou, until your scheduled departure from Xi'an. If this entire time of transit is less or precisely equal to 24 hours, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Quite the contrary, if your entire transit time exceeds 24 hours for just 1 minute, you will have to obtain a transit visa in advance.

Yes, this is fine, but again, just take care that the entire time from your scheduled landing in Guangzhou, until your scheduled departure from Xi'an cannot be longer than 24 hours. So, if this period is within 24 hours time frame, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.
