About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Getting two 24 hour visas in a month?

Flying from London (UK nationals) to Cambodia with a 23 hour layover in Shenzhen. We would like to leave the airport and see the city. Can we apply for a 24 hour visa before or is this something that’s done in the airport only. Equally we would like to do the same on the way back 30 days later. Is this possible? Thanks

You have a very simple situation that does not require a visa at all.

London - Shenzhen - Cambodia

If you do not have any additional landing within mainland China and since your transit time is less than 24 hours, you will be eligible for 24 hours visa free transit, so there is no visa of any kind.

Upon your arrival, you will approach the 24 & 144 transit desk where you will present your ticket to Cambodia and will ask for a temporary entry permit. After your itinerary is inspected by immigration authorities, you will be granted a temporary entry permit and will be allowed to exit the airport. You can explore the area and even sleep in the hotel before your return to the airport.

The same thing is valid for your journey back to London through Shenzhen airport. In the case if your layover is longer than 24 hours, then you will be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Guangdong province. In any case, you do not need any kind of visa, but have in mind that the rule with PCR or antigen test is still actual and you should have in mind that you need one that should not be older than 48 hours upon boarding your China bound plane.
