Going to lhasa from Xi'an and vice-visa for a 17 days tour

I am going to Xi'an from Singapore and from Xi'an to Lhasa for a 17 days tour in Tibet and return trip .
Must I need to apply for a Visa, if yes which type ( L ? ) and for how many entery. Any online application or link

Lhasa is in China Mainland, so you need a single-entry L visa. You need to apply here: visaforchina.cn/SGP2_EN/

For some reasons, you need to join a travel group to visit Tibet as independent tour is not allowed there. The travel agency will help you obtain a Tibet Travel Permit to enter Lhasa.
