How long are VISAs now last for?

I heard that there were VISA changes being made due to conflicts with China and Canada. 10 year valid VISAS are no longer valid and that we need to apply for a new VISA that is valid for 6 months I believe? I apologize if this is incorrect and please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe i am Q2 (visiting a relative)

As of right now, how long does a VISA last for? Can you still get 10 year validity? Thanks.

The 10-year visas have been invalid since the outbreak of covid-19 in spite of the nationalities of passport holders. Currently, all need to apply for a new one to enter China. As I know, the longest validity one can get now is equal to the validity of their passport.
